1) ¿Cómo es? - What is he/she like? (to describe personality traits) You room being inquiry to define him/her2) ¿Cómo eres? - What room you like? or What execute you look at like? (to define physical appearance). When somebody asks you this question, they space asking girlfriend to explain yourself.

You are watching: What does como eres mean in english

By itself, ¿Cómo eres?" is ambiguous. ¿Cómo eres físicamente? gets rid of up the ambiguity, and is asking you, "What room you favor physically?", no "how space you physically?", which renders no sense. Cómo in this paper definition does not mean how but is more akin to what + ser (is, was, are).

¿Cómo eres?

It method what room you like? What kind of human are you?

You would respond by describing yourself:

for example: i am tall, strong friendly and also kind.

= soybean beans alta, atlética, amistosa y amable.

(If you to be a man you would certainly substitute the letter o because that the a eg altO or amistosO)

This description can incorporate both physics characteristics and personality traits.

Note for those learning English: What are you like? deserve to be claimed as a question yet it is regularly said rhetorically ( ie: not requiring response ) as an exclamation. ""What room you like!"" in solution to a human behaving in a certain method that can reason a humerous reponse from the person"s friends zb Someone has actually just shed their secrets again and also a girlfriend responds ""You"ve lost your keys again? What room you like!""

I hope this help

You are mistaking "¿cómo eres?" with "¿cómo estás?". If someone ask me ¿Como eres?, I would certainly say, i am tall, fine built, 170 pounds, end civilization say that i am an extremely attractive!

That would make no sense if you space answering the question ¿Cómo eres?. If you to be answering ¿Cómo has estado? it would make sense. - Jack-OBrien, OCT 26, 2011
