2002 jetta GLS 2.0i am looking to change my oil pressure sender/switch but i cannot locate it, my oil light blinks every now and then, i was told the senders go bad often and to try replacing it, i have no oil leaks, just changed the oil and new filteri also have noticed that when i turn on the car in the morning, while idle is fine, as soon as i pull off there is some blue smoke trail, only in the morning when i pull off, does not happen again, anyone know why that could be?
Hi there. In my 1.8t the oil pressure sensor is at the bottom of the engine, near the screw to empty the oil, towards the right hand side. About the blue smoke... I honestly dont know :s could it be a leak from somewhere, or a bad mix with the fuel? Im just guessing... Hope u sort it out!Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
This is from the Bently...."This switch is located on the oil filterflange for both gas and diesel engines, see Oil filterflange assembly, given later.""Oil pressure switch (F1)• Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft-Ib)• Black plastic housing• Closes at 1.4 bar (20 psi)"right above the oil cooler/oil filter. think it"s the same for the 2.0 as well...

Should be this guy right here. The picture is rotated, the threaded section actually points down when installed on the engine.

What about the location of said part on a 12v VR6 AFP? My first VR and I"m considering adding an oil pressure gauge for sh*ts and giggles. Göösemister

By now you"ve found it (or tossed the car). It"s darn-near impossible to see the location! You can find it by feel though: It"s located ON TOP OF the oil filter housing. It"s easiest to buy a new figure-8 o-ring and replace that at the same time:- Jack up car- Move plastic shield under engine (if still there)- Remove filter- Remove 3 bolts (12 or 13mm) holding housing in place. You"re going to need a flex-head or universal joint and different extensions - try 1/4"-drive. The bolts weren"t in tight.... all that oil...- Lower filter housing- Unplug sender from wire harness- On ground or vise, hold housing and remove sender (24mm?). I just used big pliers, came out easy. Oil leaking from top of sender.- Clean housing- Swap o-ring- Install in reverse. I need to upload video to YouTube. It"s a 45 minute job. Spent more time looking for the oil pressure sender!
